Apricity

Project Summary: Apricity

Apricity is a photographic exploration of womanhood, focusing on the themes of unity, individuality, and inclusive representation. Drawing from the meaning of the word "apricity"—the warmth of the sun in winter—the project celebrates the quiet strength, resilience, and beauty found in the contrasts and complexities of being a woman today.

Through intimate portraits and personal narratives, Apricity seeks to move beyond the societal labels and divisions that often separate women. It offers a space where differences are not only acknowledged but embraced as essential threads in the tapestry of female identity. The work is deeply personal, rooted in the artist’s own journey of learning to trust and form genuine relationships with other women in a world where social and digital discourse often fosters division.

The project captures real women in environments, routines, or rituals that make them feel most connected to their sense of womanhood. These portraits are accompanied by reflections and stories, creating a body of work that is both deeply personal and universally resonant. Apricity ultimately serves as a visual and emotional archive of what it means to be a woman today—in all its imperfection, power, and grace.

Brontide - (upcoming)

Project Summary: Brontide

Brontide—named after the low, distant rumble of thunder—explores the often unheard but deeply felt expressions of masculinity. As the brother project to Apricity, which celebrates womanhood in its complexity and collective strength, Brontide focuses on the quiet tenderness and emotional resonance of being a man today.

In a world where the internet has reshaped male culture—fueling polarized ideologies, loneliness, and performative toughness—Brontide seeks to reclaim a different narrative: one of warmth, vulnerability, connection, and care. It is a visual and emotional documentation of the love men have for each other, the rituals of support, and the everyday moments that make them feel seen, strong, and human.

Rather than framing masculinity around dominance or suppression, Brontide leans into the strength of emotional presence. Through intimate portraiture, storytelling, and collaborative imagery, the project captures men in their most genuine states—laughing, creating, embracing, crying, sitting in stillness, or offering support without expectation. It celebrates the masculinity found in affection, softness, protection, and self-awareness.

Brontide also interrogates how male identity is shaped, challenged, and performed in online spaces. It acknowledges the impact of “manosphere” trends, the pressure to "man up," and the way social media curates a narrow, often toxic definition of masculinity. In response, this project offers a counter-image: one rooted in authenticity, emotional intelligence, and brotherhood.

This is not about fixing men, but seeing them fully—across identities, cultures, and lived experiences. It is about reminding men that they are allowed to be adored, that connection is not weakness, and that they belong to each other just as much as they belong to themselves.

Ultimately, Brontide is a love letter to men in all their forms—an invitation to step into warmth, to feel deeply, and to let their own thunder echo not with violence, but with truth, love, and presence.
